What's your full name?
Katie Glawson Jones
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Cartersville, GA. Other than a few years living in Athens, where I went to college, I've lived in Cartersville my whole life!
Where did you go to school?
I attended Cartersville City Schools, too! I started at Cartersville Primary School in first grade, and I graduated from Cartersville High School in 1999.
I went to The University of Georgia for my undergraduate degree, and I graduated from UGA in 2003.
I went to Kennesaw State University for my Master's degree, and I graduated from KSU in 2006.
Are you married?
Yes- my husband's name is Saunders Jones III. He also went to Cartersville City Schools! We started Pre-K together. So, we've known each other almost our whole lives! He is the credit analyst at Century Bank downtown.
Do you have any kids?
Yes- I have one daughter named Katie Anne. She is one and a half years old... her birthday is on Spring Break! She is a ton of fun and keeps me very busy.

Abby- a rescue dog who's a beagle mix. She is 15 years old.
Ginger- a miniature schanuzer. She's almost three.
Cosmo- a guinea pig. He's almost one.
Chloe- a rescue bunny. She's one and a half years old, just like Katie Anne! They were both born in April.
Olive- a goldfish. She's almost two.
**Cosmo, Chloe, and Olive spend some of their time in the classroom with us! They are all my pets, and I love them all very much, so I expect students to treat them with the same respect and kindness as they would their own pets.
Who else is in your family?
My parents are Thomas and Cindy Glawson, who also live in Cartersville. My dad owns his own business inspecting backflow prevention devices. My mom is a mail carrier. We have great times together! My younger brother, Greg, lives in Woodstock. You'll hear lots of funny stories about Greg and I and our adventures growing up! Greg is getting married this October to his fiancee, Jillian. I am in the wedding, so I'll bring lots of pictures to show you.
What are your hobbies?
I love to read! It is probably my #1 hobby. I love to read books, magazines, news articles on the internet, and more. My favorite book is Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, and I love the magazines Real Simple, Parents, Wonder Time, and People. I also love to scrapbook, knit, sew, and basically do anything that's "crafty". I love to hang out with my husband, daughter, family, and friends. I like to watch television if I have free time, too. Some of my favorite shows are Project Runway, Top Chef, Divine Design, and John & Kate + 8.
How long have you been teaching? What grades have you taught?
I've been teaching for six years. I've taught fourth grade and Pre-K.
